Stephen Jiezhi Yang is a researcher at Applied Intuition, focusing on building cutting-edge autonomous systems. He recently earned his M.S. in CSE from Harvard University, where he also cross-registered at MIT. Before that, he graduated with high distinction from the EECS Honors Program at UC Berkeley, earning a B.A. in Computer Science and Cognitive Science.
Stephen is passionate about advancing spatial intelligence in visual agents, enabling them to learn and reason effectively in 3D environments. He is deeply grateful for the privilege of learning with exceptionally talented individuals at BAIR Lab under Prof. Joseph Gonzalez and Prof. Trevor Darrell, with Charles Packer, Lisa Dunlap, and Alvin Wan. He also appreciates the experiences at the Interactive Robotics Group, Harvard CVG, and MIT CSAIL.
In industry, Stephen worked at Qualcomm AI Research on a new perception platform, and at Robert Bosch Research on autonomous driving development.
